How Do I Get Rid of Termites?
The most effective termite treatment trusted by many professional pest control companies is Termidor, a liquid termiticide with a high rate of success.
When it comes to getting rid of termites, there are many treatments available that all have varying degrees of success. For the most part, the two main types of termite treatment are liquid termiticides (such as Altriset) and bait systems. Altriset works to eliminate almost all types of termites, making it one of the most favored methods by pest control companies. Besides these two methods, there is also fumigation, heat treatment, orange oil, direct soil or wood treatment, and more.
What is Altriset?
The active ingredient in Altriset termiticide was scientifically formulated based on naturally occurring compounds found in bark of a South American plant known as Ryania speciosa. This is where scientists created their breakthrough. A few reasons why Altriset is so favored by professionals include:
- When your Hitmen Termite Pest Control professionals apply Altriset, they only need a small dose of it to control the termites, ensuring extended residual control for your home.
- Altriset will protect your home by stopping any further damage, fully controlling the termite infestation within 3 months.
- The application of Altriset will also provide long-lasting protection throughout the surrounding soil, which works to prevent further damage
- Studies show only one application of Altriset can fully protect your home from termites for years to come!

Do Bait Stations Work as Well as Altriset?
Bait stations are monitors that are placed every 8–10 feet around the perimeter of your home. Bait stations do not seek out termites. Instead, termites have to find a bait station for it to do any good. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that termites that are already inside or heading for your home will ever find a bait station at all. With most baiting systems, there is no active solution placed inside the bait stations at first which means there is absolutely no protection against termites.
Orange Oil & Other Methods of Eliminating Termites
There are a number of other termite treatments. Fumigation is almost always a last-ditch effort to eliminate a termite infestation inside the house, as it is also the most inconvenient and chemical treatment. Besides fumigation, another method often used by The Hitmen is XT-2000 Orange Oil. Once the treatment is applied, your home will be left with an orange scent that will typically last 4 to 5 days, and we guarantee results with our 2-year full-structure warranty.
